- .org (organization) is a generic top-level
domain (gTLD) used in the Internet's Domain Name System.
- .org was one of the original top-level domains established in January 1985,
originally intended for use by organizations that did not meet the
requirements for other gTLDs. The MITRE Corporation was the first group to
register a .org domain with mitre.org in July 1985.
- Anyone can register a .org domain; there are no requirements for
registration. .org was recommended for and perceived by common public to be
of non-commercial entities, but there are no such registry restrictions as
those for .gov or .edu top level domains. There are many instances of .org
being used by commercial sites, although some people question whether it is
ethical to do so. .org was also commonly recommended for use by individuals,
although .name and .info are now alternatives.
- The .org TLD has been operated since January 1, 2003 by Public Interest
Registry, who took over from VeriSign Global Registry Services, a division
of VeriSign.

- You get User ID and Password to Manage
your domain name.
- Domain Names are usually registered within
24 hours of the receipt of payment. Once Successfully registered nobody can
register your domain name, but it still takes 1-2 days to show in the WHOIS
database.
- Domain Registration is done on a
First-come-first-serve basis. The domain requested may be registered by some
other person/organization in between the period of request for domain
registration and the receipt of payment.
- SAN Infosys! will not be
responsible in any way for the non-availability of the domain name. The
money you send will be refunded in case you do not want to register another
Domain with us.

- Don't use "www": Please do not use
the "www" in the name. "www" is not part of the domain name, since it is a
host in the domain.
- Allowable characters: Only
letters(a-z), digits(0-9), and hyphens (-) will be accepted in a domain name
but may not contain spaces or other punctuation. Names cannot begin or end
with hyphens.
- Domain length: Domain names may be
between 3 and 63 characters in length before the ".com," ".net," ".org,"
".info," or ".biz" etc. extensions suffix.
- Availablity to anyone: Domain names
are available to anyone! Companies, individuals, and organizations in India
and abroad are eligible.
- Terms: Domain names may be
registered for a minimum of one (1) year, and a maximum of ten (10) years.
- Contact information: Registrants
must provide true, accurate contact information. The following contact types
are required: Registrant, Administrative, Technical, Billing. As per
standing policy, the contact data will displayed in the WHOIS.
- Trademarked or Copyrighted Name: If
you register a trademarked or copyrighted name, you may be approached by the
legal owner of the name and asked to relinquish ownership.
- Letter case: Once a domain name is
registered, you can use it in any case: CAPITAL, lower, or MiXeD. For
example, http://www.YourDomain.com or yourname@YOURDOMAIN.ORG.
